Baltimore +7½ over L.A. Rams M&T Bank Stadium – Baltimore, MD

1:00 PM ET. Markets move on headlines, not nuance, and this one screams overreaction. Lamar Jackson being ruled out was all the excuse the oddsmakers needed to inflate this line beyond reason. The Ravens without Lamar are being priced like a bottom-feeder — catching more than a converted touchdown at home — against a Rams team that, for all the hype, has been living off smoke and mirrors.

Yes, Jackson’s absence matters. You don’t replace a player of his caliber. But you also don’t downgrade an entire organization that’s built on structure, toughness, and a defensive backbone. Baltimore is still led by one of the league’s sharpest minds in John Harbaugh, still features a ferocious front seven, and still plays its best football when counted out. This is a proud team that’s heard all week how “finished” they are. That’s often when the Ravens are at their most dangerous.

The Rams? They’re the media darling right now. Matthew Stafford’s gaudy stat line (107.3 passer rating, 11 TDs, 2 INTs) is plastered across every broadcast, as if a handful of shootouts against leaky defenses somehow make L.A. a juggernaut. They’ve fattened up on soft opponents, gone 3–2 against a lightweight schedule, and still can’t run the ball worth a damn. Traveling east for an early kickoff is not the recipe for a blowout win, no matter how “hot” a team looks on paper.

Cooper Rush takes the snaps for Baltimore, and that’s fine by us. He’s a serviceable veteran who won’t try to do too much. The Ravens can lean on Derrick Henry, control tempo, and shorten the game behind a defense that will make the Rams earn every yard. L.A. has been relying on chunk plays to mask its inefficiencies; that doesn’t work against this style of opponent.
