San Jose +195 over New Jersey

SAP Center – San Jose, CA

10:30 PM ET. OT included. Every once in a while, the market forgets how hockey actually works. New Jersey limps into San Jose off a humiliating 8-4 loss in Colorado, and the books still hang a massive road favorite price like nothing happened. That’s the kind of blind respect that creates value.

The Devils just got buried under an Avalanche team that exposed every weakness they’ve been hiding during their eight-game win streak. They gave up five straight goals before they even showed up, completely lost their defensive structure, and got bailed out only by Colorado easing up. That’s not a blip — that’s a team showing you what happens when their goaltending and discipline dry up. They went from second-best in the league on the penalty kill to surrendering four power-play goals in one night.

Now they’re supposed to fly cross-country, play their second straight road game in 48 hours, and handle a scrappy San Jose team that’s finally starting to find itself? No thanks.

The Sharks might be sitting near the basement in the standings, but their effort level is rising fast. They outshot the Kings 40–14 in a 4-3 loss on Tuesday — forty to fourteen — and if you think that’s fluky, it isn’t. Ryan Warsofsky’s group is playing connected hockey, forechecking with purpose, and actually looking dangerous in transition for the first time all season. They erased a 3-0 deficit against L.A. and were a bounce away from winning it outright.

Macklin Celebrini and William Eklund are driving that surge, combining for 19 points over the last five games. The kids are feeling it, and that youthful swagger is starting to rub off on the rest of the group. There’s a spark in San Jose right now — not reflected in the standings yet, but absolutely visible on the ice.
