Nashville -1½ +225 over Vancouver

Bridgestone Arena – Nashville, TN

8:00 PM ET. Regulation only. The Canucks are limping into Music City and they've had a couple of days to drown their sorrows at Tootsies waiting for this contest. Vancouver is missing key bodies all over the lineup, and the situation keeps getting worse. Filip Chytil is out indefinitely and could be facing another concussion — his sixth — after a heavy collision in Washington. Jonathan Lekkerimaki also landed on IR after injuring his shoulder, while Teddy Blueger joined them with a leg issue. Derek Forbort was already out, and Brock Boeser has missed the last two games dealing with a personal matter. That’s a lot of holes for a team that’s been overachieving early and now has to play short-staffed in a demanding building.

Even when mostly healthy, the Canucks were walking a fine line. They’ve relied on opportunistic scoring and strong goaltending, but the underlying play-driving metrics have been slipping for weeks. Against Pittsburgh on Tuesday, they were overwhelmed after the first ten minutes and looked completely out of gas by the middle frame. Adam Foote called it exactly that: a team running out of fuel.

Nashville, meanwhile, is frustrated. The Preds have dropped four straight, and Tuesday’s 5-2 loss to Anaheim was a wake-up call. Roman Josi called it “not the game you want to play,” lamenting soft goals and lazy puck battles. Andrew Brunette didn’t disagree. He said the young blueline “had a hard night” and that the group lacked urgency. That’s exactly the type of loss that gets the attention of a veteran core — especially one that prides itself on structure and discipline.

The Preds still generated plenty of looks against the Ducks, but didn’t finish. Those same chances are likely to appear again tonight against a depleted Vancouver lineup with little left in the tank. Juuse Saros tends to respond well after rough outings, and Nashville’s speed up front should create matchup problems all night.

Vancouver is in survival mode, patching lines together and praying for goaltending. Nashville is angry, rested, and back home. We’re spotting a goal and a half because this sets up as a potential blowout — a chance for the Preds to take out their frustration on a thin opponent running on fumes.

Take advantage of BET365's early MLB payout offer!

For straight bets, if the team you back to win goes 5 runs ahead at any stage during the game, BET365 will pay out your bet in full regardless of whether the opposition comes back to win the game.

For parlays and Same Game Parlays, if a team you have backed goes 5 runs ahead, this selection will be marked as won within My Bets, with the remaining selections left to run.

Here is a wager we were paid out early on that would eventually lose.
