Buffalo -110 over Detroit

7:37 PM ET. OT included. The Red Wings are flying high, winners of five straight, and now they’re being priced like they can keep doing this forever. Dylan Larkin is lighting it up, Detroit’s scoring in bunches, and the market is eating it up like it’s gospel. We’ve seen this movie before. A hot streak fueled by an unsustainable shooting percentage, a captain playing hero hockey, and a goaltending tandem that’s been bailing them out just enough to make it look easy. It never lasts.

Detroit’s been living off adrenaline and puck luck. They’ve been outshot in four of their last five and haven’t faced a team that can truly grind yet. That changes tonight. Buffalo doesn’t just skate — they attack in waves. The Sabres lost to Montreal on Monday, but that game was closer than the score suggests. They carried play, created quality chances, and got beat by a hot goalie and some bad luck in tight. That’s the kind of loss that sharpens a team, not one that lingers.

The Sabres are younger, faster, and more dangerous than their record shows. Their underlying metrics say they’ve been the better team in most of their games, and they’ve been generating chances from all four lines. Dylan Cozens, Jack Quinn, and Jiri Kulich are starting to click, while rookie Zach Benson has been a revelation — a relentless playmaker who makes everyone around him better.

The Wings, meanwhile, are missing Patrick Kane and getting by on bursts from Larkin. That’s not sustainable. When he inevitably cools off, Detroit’s offense will come back to earth, and without Kane’s creativity, their power play loses its anchor. They’re playing their third road game in five nights, and this spot has “flat” written all over it.

For straight bets, if the team you back to win goes 5 runs ahead at any stage during the game, BET365 will pay out your bet in full regardless of whether the opposition comes back to win the game.

For parlays and Same Game Parlays, if a team you have backed goes 5 runs ahead, this selection will be marked as won within My Bets, with the remaining selections left to run.

Here is a wager we were paid out early on that would eventually lose.
