That’s precisely why we’re interested in Nashville. The Jets are back home off an East Coast sweep, a classic letdown spot. They beat Philadelphia and New Jersey in games where they were never really tested, faced just 17 shots in their last one, and are now being asked to lay a price against a desperate, well-structured Preds squad that just outplayed Montreal for 59 minutes.

Nashville is quietly doing a lot of things right. Juuse Saros has been outstanding (.935 save percentage), and even with the low goal totals, they’re generating quality looks at five-on-five. Their issue has been finishing—not effort, not structure, not buy-in. That’s the kind of “problem” that tends to correct itself with time and a bit of puck luck.

Meanwhile, Winnipeg’s underlying numbers don’t match the scoreboard results. They’ve been living off high shooting percentages and soft opposition, and that kind of good fortune runs dry quickly. The Jets are still one of the worst teams in the league at controlling play when trailing, meaning if Nashville jumps ahead early, this one flips entirely.

We’re not buying the recent Winnipeg hype. This line is inflated on recency bias alone. Nashville’s the hungrier side, the better defensive club, and they’re getting a price that shouldn’t be available in this spot.
