10:00 PM ET. OT included. The market’s worshipping the Golden Knights again. Vegas at home, 3-1-1 start, Jack Eichel piling up points — you know the drill. Meanwhile, Boston’s being written off after one off-night against Tampa. That’s recency bias doing what it does best, inflating the favorite and padding the underdog’s value.

The Bruins went into that Tampa game flat — it happens. They fell behind early and chased, yet still nearly clawed back. Prior to that, Boston had won three straight with balance, structure, and buy-in under Marco Sturm, who’s quietly got this group playing harder and freer than last year’s bunch. Now they hit the road for a three-game trip out west, and while that sounds brutal on paper, trips like this early in the year can actually be galvanizing. A bit of team bonding, a new coach, and a “nobody believes in us” spot against a big-name opponent? That’s fuel.

Vegas, on the other hand, is overvalued. The Knights have one regulation win through five games and needed overtime to scrape by both San Jose and Seattle. They were down 2-0 to Calgary before the Flames predictably collapsed. Strip away the logo and you’re left with a team still struggling to finish and already banged up — with Adin Hill day-to-day and Akira Schmid likely in goal. That’s a significant downgrade, and one the market hasn’t priced properly.
