Texas A&M +3½ over Missouri
12:00 PM EST. Missouri is riding high after last week's impressive victory over Florida, and that's precisely why the Tigers are worth selling this week. Everything lined up perfectly in Columbia. The crowd was electric, the opponent was highly regarded, and Missouri delivered its biggest performance of the season. Now comes the difficult part: getting back to business against a talented Texas A&M team that isn't generating nearly the same excitement.
The Aggies have been a disappointment, but disappointment and lack of talent are two entirely different things. Texas A&M still has plenty of ability on both sides of the ball, and last week's 34-7 dismantling of Arkansas offered a reminder of what this team is capable of. Marcel Reed played a clean game, distributed the football to seven different receivers and, most importantly, resisted the temptation to turn every play into a one-man rescue mission. When Reed plays within the offense, the Aggies become considerably more dangerous.
Missouri deserves credit for beating Florida, but one outstanding performance shouldn't erase everything that came before it. Just two weeks earlier, the Tigers managed a pedestrian 230 yards and 13 first downs against Troy. That's hardly the offensive résumé of a team that should automatically be laying more than a field goal against an opponent with A&M's personnel.
There's also a significant difference between hosting Florida with the entire program operating at maximum emotional intensity and welcoming an underappreciated Aggies squad seven days later. Missouri is now the team being celebrated, while Texas A&M arrives with its reputation battered and expectations considerably lower. That's usually when the betting market starts offering something interesting.
The Tigers may be the more popular choice, but popularity doesn't justify the price. Texas A&M is every bit capable of winning this game outright, and getting 3½ points makes the Aggies even more attractive.ad their celebration last week. Now comes the considerably more difficult assignment of proving it wasn't a one-week illusion.
