Northeastern +120 ML over PRINCETON

Jadwin Gymnasium - Princeton, NJ

7:00 PM ET. This matchup boils down to two mid-majors with completely different identities, and the market is inflating Princeton simply because their name rings louder in March. The Tigers carry the reputation; Northeastern doesn’t. That alone pushes this line higher than it should be. If you stripped away the logos and ranked only on performance, this game would be hovering around a pick’em.

Princeton is an offense-first outfit, averaging 73 per game, and that’s the backbone of their whole operation. The problem? Their defense has been abysmal. The Tigers are allowing 78.5 points per contest — 303rd nationally — and that’s with part of their schedule padded by a Division II opponent. Against real competition, they’ve been run off the floor. Iona, Kansas, Akron — all delivered double-digit lessons. Their net margin sits at -5 and the results match that profile.

Northeastern, meanwhile, is the polar opposite. They play possession basketball, lean on their defense, and drag opponents into grind-it-out matchups. They surrender 71 per game (a respectable 112th) and rely on structure rather than pace or flash. Their 2–3 record doesn’t tell the story: they’ve won twice on the road against Harvard and Colgate, and two of their three losses came by a combined six points. They’ve been competitive everywhere.

So what do we actually have? A Princeton team that can only win when their scoring avalanche shows up. A Northeastern team that travels well, plays disciplined defense, and thrives in games that tighten up. If this becomes a defensive slog — and Northeastern will force that tempo — Princeton loses its only advantage. And if the Tigers get forced out of rhythm early, their leaky defense becomes a liability in a hurry. The more reliable profile belongs to the Huskies. They’re scrappy, more adaptable, and better suited to thrive in this match-up. Northeastern outright.
