UConn was laying a bucket, they won by five. This is a high-profile scalp for the Huskies – there is the first slice of bread. Now, the market is coming back hard on the Huskies and fading the cupcake Lions who are the meat. And who is on the horizon after this glorified scrimmage, you ask? Defending champion Florida; The same team who knocked the Huskies out of March Madness, last season. The Huskies get the Gators in a prime-time tilt at Madison Square Garden. And there, ladies and gentlemen is our last slice of bread.

Now, we understand that UConn is not a team to take anyone lightly, nor are they a side that perhaps even looks ahead. But the spectacle and the sentiment behind the forthcoming contest cannot help but distract even the most seasoned of athletes and let’s not forget, these are still college kids. Even if Connecticut is focused on the team also known as Texas A&M-Commerce, once they get this under control, they are going to turn this over to the bench, to keep their starters fresh, and their supporting cast sharp. There is no impetus for the Huskies to run this up and we can assure you that this is a contest that they are looking to get over and done with, given what comes next. Laying this kind of lumber in this spot is not conducive and when we factor in the Lions' lack of appeal, we know they are taking back an inflated tag on a side that will see this as an opportunity to get meaningful minutes against one of college basketball's blue bloods.
