9:00 PM ET. Optics are everything, even if only one game has been played this college basketball season for either party. The Aggies are a Big West household name, they are coming in off a blowout win where they put up 96 points. The problem? It was against Menlo Oaks College. In other words, UCD trampled a glorified community college. And yet, the touts are lauding the Aggies for their efforts.

The Bison meanwhile lost against what some experts called an "Oregon State team expected to be bad". Incidentally, NDSU was a nine-point dog in that contest and lost by just two. Reactions skew perception and perception is not reality. Such is the case here.

What the market should see is a North Dakota State team that played above expectation going against a side that just played a tune-up game against a basketball team that probably is using varsity athletics as an elective course. Big freaking deal. And still UCD gave up 69 points to them.

If the Aggies were the superior side they'd be laying more here and the fact they have covered four of their last five against the Bison which renders them prone to be overvalued by historicity. Put this on a neutral court and the oddsmakers are telling us this is a toss-up though the Aggies are apparently the much better side. The price tells us differently and we'll follow that clue not market sentiment. Bison outright.
