6:45 PM EST. We’re not going to take anything away from George Kirby (RHP - SEA), as he is one of the best young pitchers in baseball, but so too is the pitcher facing off against him today. That said, Kirby is coming off a poor performance in which he gave up five runs on nine hits over 6 IP versus Baltimore, striking out just three. He also allowed 11 hard-hit balls versus the O’s, and that loss left him at 4-4 on the season. Kirby sports a bloated ERA of 5.19 on the road, which covers 26 innings, and as good as he is, he is spotting an inflated price here on the road in Washington.

The Nationals’ MacKenzie Gore (RHP - WAS) has been outstanding this season. He’s allowed three earned runs or less in every start, with 54 strikeouts in 46.1 innings pitched. He has only walked 16, giving him a 19.1% K-BB with a 13% swing-and-miss rate. Gore looks to keep the good times rolling versus a Mariners team that has struck out 27% of the time against LHP over the past month. Overlay.
