It might be time to “sell high” on Logan Allen (LHP - CLE) after the lefty posted his fifth win of the season by tossing six scoreless innings versus the Twins on Saturday, bringing his scoreless innings streak to 12 over two starts (both victories). We’ll note that Allen also silenced the White Sox (who are last in average vs. LHP), so forgive us for not putting much stock into him racking up the goose eggs on teams that struggle greatly at the dish. Allen’s ERA is not pretty at 4.91, and it’s backed by an xERA of 4.79 and a swing-and-miss rate of just 9.7%.

Meanwhile, the Angels will answer with a lefty of their own in Patrick Sandoval (LHP - LAA), who did not factor in the decision in his last start on Saturday vs. Texas. Sandoval allowed only one run in that start, which was the second time in three starts that no more than one run was plated on his tab. Sandoval's surface ERA is on the way down after peaking at 6.75 on April 20 to 4.85 entering tonight, and that number should continue to drop, as his xERA is a tidy 3.06. Sandoval has 53 Ks in 51 IP with both an unlucky Batting Average of Balls in Play (.351) and strand rate (64.1%), while sporting a solid swing-and-miss rate of 12.4%. Sandoval is a fine “buy low” candidate here, as he and the Halos are flying under the radar and they present great value here at home.
