Washington +165 over Toronto

7:07 PM EST. You simply cannot trust Jose Berrios (RHP - TOR) and the Blue Jays to win at prices like this. Every time Toronto looks good, they revert back to their struggling ways of being a slightly above .500 team (.545). Jose Berrios is just as likely to win as he is to lose regardless of who he is facing. Berrios (9-9) took the loss Thursday, allowing five runs on nine hits over six innings against Baltimore. He struck out four lousy batters. Don’t get us wrong, as Berrios is very capable of a strong start but his ERA/xERA split over the past month covering five starts and 28 innings is a pedestrian 4.23/4.63. He’ll also face a pesky Nationals’ team that has been a tough out for weeks.

MacKenzie Gore (LHP - WAS) really struggled to keep the ball in the park with runners on base (25% hr/f) in April, May June, which explained his 7.43 ERA with runners on during that span. However, his skills were electric at times too so there’s some real profit potential here. Dude was a top prospect that just keeps getting better. He has 145 K’s in 127 frames with a supported 13.4% swing and miss rate. Gore took the loss against the Yankees on Wednesday, allowing six runs (two earned) on four hits and one walk while striking out four batters over four innings. It was a short outing but it was not his own undoing and it works to our advantage here. This is a very decent starter that could throw a gem at any time and at this price, he and the Nats are very worthy.
