Cleveland +150 over Minnesota

7:40 PM EST. We’re always looking for value first and with that being the case, we cannot get away from the Guardians here. The Guardians offense is awake and cashing in these days. Cleveland scored seven last night and 10 on Sunday. For a team that has struck out the least amount of times in MLB, its offense is supposed to produce. It’s been a lot of bad luck for the Guardians but make no mistake that this team will put the ball in play against Pablo Lopez (RHP - MIN).

Lopez owns a shaky 4.62 ERA at home, but that figure comes through the traffic and travails of a 33% hit rate. Still, Lopez might also be running a little low on fuel. A Chronic shoulder issue stayed at bay for a career-high 32 starts last year. He suffered 3 of his 4 duds (6+ ER) in the 2nd half when lefties did a lot of the damage. He’s already made 26 starts this year covering 159 innings. He can be very good but we have to wonder if he’s laboring a bit or if the shoulder is taking on a bit too much.

Gavin Williams (RHP - MIN) is facing a Minnesota team that has struck out more than any team in the majors. Williams owns a 3.76 ERA/3.15 xERA over his last five starts. Upticks in K% (33% in August) and GB% (44% in August) have been welcome sights. Williams has posted some fine second-half numbers while facing the likes of the Rangers, Phillies, Astros, Rays, and Dodgers. This group is not tougher than any of the aforementioned.
