Miami +127 over L.A. Angels

9:38 PM EST. The Marlins and Angels both enter the game on opposite sides of the momentum spectrum. The Halos have secured victories in four straight games and six of their past seven. On the other hand, the Marlins have experienced a recent dip in positive results, having lost four of their last five games.

In a battle of lefties, Reid Detmers (LHP - LAA) will get the start for the Angels. Detmers has a 0-3 record and a 4.87 ERA, with an xERA of 4.06 and an inflated WHIP of 1.43. Meanwhile, Jesus Luzardo (LHP - MIA) takes the mound for the Fish as he makes his 11th start of the season. Luzardo is 3-3 with an ERA of 3.83 and an xERA of 4.01. He, like Detmers, is capable of striking out batters (both have a better-than-K-per-inning strikeout rate), but both are also capable of walking batters. In short, these two pitchers are much comparable across the board.

When you have a game that appears to be a 50/50 proposition, and you have one team that is rolling and one team that is struggling somewhat, it would be easy to play "the hotter team" and simply move on. However, if sports wagering were just about playing the hotter side while not being mindful of dozens of other outside factors, the market would be marking money hand over fist. We know better, and it would be both childish and a disservice to any loyal reader who takes the time to frequent this space when the market is flooded with scumbag pick sellers, bad information, and people who would sell their mother for a $5 bill, to peddle those wares.

Perhaps the Angels win this game easily, good on 'em, but we are not in the "predicting games" business. We are purveyors of value who have built a reputation on that foundation. For nearly 20 years, it has been our goal to educate our readers so that they do not fall into the many pitfalls and potholes of sports wagering. In a business where most are never profitable, our record stands for itself. There have been ups and downs, but for 18 years, we have been here every day, with a smile on our faces, just the same as the day before. We put our hearts and souls into this website and cannot express enough gratitude to those who make us a part of their day when they do not have to. If you want to "pick the hotter team," you can find that garbage anywhere else, and we'd encourage you to do so. We're not for you, Bro, and that's OK.

As for our pick, we're going to back the Marlins, taking back an inflated price in a game they can win. That's what we do.

Finnie
