10:00 AM ET. This is a continuation of our assault on Huddersfield and a straight fade of the Terriers, plain and simple. Huddersfield, a bona fide contender, looks like early Halloween candy here — priced at an inviting near +250 underdog to win in full time that’s just a bit too sweet to be real. The market has gotten their buckets out.

The Chairboys, meanwhile, have all but vanished into obscurity since peaking around Boxing Day last season. Huddersfield sits eighth on the League One table with 19 points; Wycombe hovers dangerously near the drop zone in 18th, just three points clear with 13. But there’s nuance here that further drives the narrative.

Huddersfield has fallen short in key tests, losing to two other contenders — Bolton Wanderers and Stockport County in Yorkshire. But the market will forgive that because Wycombe comparatively looks like an easier out. The Terriers have also had eight days to prepare for this one, which on paper makes this look like a true bounce-back spot. However, the price says otherwise. If the Terriers were truly primed to rebound, they wouldn’t be lined this long.

Wycombe, on the other hand, come in off a solid draw away at Blackpool which is never an easy trip to the coast. Wanderers preceded this with a narrow 1-0 win over Wigan which prejudicially says not much given the fact that the Latics were in a dry spell that recently ended. However, it is still worth noting and indicates that the Boys are showing signs of life and we reiterate that the number is doing the talking. Despite sitting low on the table, they’re installed as a considerable favorite here, and that alone demands attention. We’re listening. Wycombe Wanderers for three points.
