Calgary -½ +160 over Philadelphia

7:00 PM EST. Regulation only. Philadelphia is a road favorite tonight, which is rather absurd. The Flyers are 4-10-4, one of the worst teams in the league by every measure that counts, and the market has them laying a price in Calgary, in a building where the home team has been the better side at five-on-five all season. You don't lay a price on the road with a 4-10-4 team. You just don't.

Calgary controls the puck. The Flames rank 11th in shot-attempt share, 9th in expected goals, and 14th in offensive-zone time, against a Philadelphia side that ranks 28th, 28th, and 31st. The results haven't followed because Calgary can't finish, dead last in high-danger shooting and second-last in shooting percentage, and the market has priced the results instead of the process. That's the buy-low: a home team that plays the right way and keeps getting nothing for it, against a road favorite that has no business being one.

There's a little extra in it tonight, too. Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee were traded out of Philadelphia to Calgary in January 2025, and tonight they skate against the team that moved them. Both are among Calgary's leading scorers this season, so this isn't a couple of spare parts looking for a moment. It's two players who found a home after being shown the door, with a chance to make the team that gave up on them pay for it in front of their own crowd. The moneyline is a coin flip, so we take the plus price in regulation. Minus a half at plus 127 means Calgary wins it in sixty minutes, no overtime, no shootout, no charity. A home team that owns the puck against a road favorite that shouldn't be one, that's a bet.
