Vegas -½ +122 over Arizona

9:07 PM EST. Regulation only. Arizona will finally take the ice tonight after the All-Star break, but it remains to be seen if 12 days off will be enough to shake off the collar they took during a three-game Eastern Conference road trip to end January. The Coyotes gave up goals in bunches on that 0-3 effort through Florida, Tampa Bay, and Carolina, allowing six goals to both the Panthers and Lightning and three to the Hurricanes. Blowout losses have become a theme for the ‘Yotes of late, as seven of their last 10 losses have come by three goals or more.

Meanwhile, the Golden Knights have a game under their belts, as they knocked off the Oilers on Tuesday night, denying Edmonton its record-tying 17th win in a row. The Knights gave up the game's opening goal, a short-handed effort by Connor McDavid, but after that, Vegas shut down the best player in the world and kept the Oilers out of the record books. Unlike the Coyotes and their propensity to get shelled, the Knights have allowed just 10 goals over their last seven wins, going 7-2-1 over their last 10.

Perhaps what’s most impressive about the Golden Knights' run over their last 10 contests is that their power play (PP) has been dismal. It’s easy to win when you are racking up special teams goals, but those streaks come and go like the wind. We cannot predict when the Knights PP unit will pick it back up, but it will. Vegas is too talented to continue its 3-for-25 run of futility. Entering tonight, the Golden Knights rank just 19th in the league on the PP, but a correction to the good is coming, and the Coyotes are the perfect team to get right against. Even if Vegas does not hit on their special teams opportunities tonight, the situation here is too good to pass up, as the Coyotes could be flat after nearly two weeks on the shelf. Even if the ‘Yote bring their “A” game, Vegas is underpriced in a tremendous situation spot. We can’t ask for much more.
