Seattle +103 over Toronto

9:07 PM EST. OT Included. The Kraken were ice cold to start the year and didn’t warm up until December. They then went on a heater that saw them win 11 of 13 games, which included a 9-game winning streak. That streak came to an end with a 3-0 loss to Pittsburgh and now Seattle has dropped three in a row. Those hot and cold streaks and everything in between just proves once again how luck-driven results are in hockey. That said, Seattle is rock solid defensively and they’re a well-balanced team that are capable of making a deep run in the playoffs should they get there. Although the Kraken return home from a 6-game trip, they’ve been off since Thursday and if they are going to be flat in a return from a trip, it’ll likely happen next game against a weak opponent when they host the Blackhawks and not against the Maple Leafs in a packed house with an energetic crowd. The Kraken also catch the Maple Leafs in a bad spot.

Toronto just played three successive games in Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver last night. Ask any player what the toughest three game trip of the year is and they’ll all tell you it’s the three or four games on the Canadian West Coast. Toronto played in Calgary on Tuesday, Edmonton on Thursday and Vancouver last night so this is their fourth game in six nights, third game in four nights and the tail end of back-to-backs. Aside from winning just once over their last six games, the Maple Leafs continue to give up a ton of scoring chances and they don’t have the goaltending to compensate. It is a rare night when the Maple leafs don’t give up four or more goals unless they’re playing San Jose, Anaheim or Nashville. Leafs favored here in a horrible scheduling spot is incorrect.
