Vegas +122 over Edmonton

10:10 PM EST. OT included. This series has taken on a nasty tone that ended with the Oilers’ Darnell Nurse being disciplined by the league for his exchanging fisticuffs with Vegas’ Nic Hauge in the last minute of his team’s win at home in Edmonton, 5-1. However, prior to that, was Alex Pietrangelo’s attempted amputation of Leon Draisaitl’s left arm with a two handed chop that would have made Wahoo McDaniel blush. For that infraction, Pietrangelo has been suspended for this game.

Draisaitl says he’s “good to go,” which is great all things considered, but how true that statement is remains to be seen. All we know is that if he were out, there would be an overreaction to his absence, but now that Draisaitl is going to play there is going to be a stabilization in the market that we are going to try and capitalize on.

The Oilers have been favored in two road games in Vegas. In Game 1, Edmonton was -116, and in Game 1, it was -129. Now, in Game 5, the Oilers are their largest price of the series. We are not going to break down what the loss of each defenseman means to each team, both will adjust, as it’s a “next man up” league. As a reminder, the Golden Knights are down to Adin Hill in net, but that is old news now, as these games come at you fast.

There has been no rhythm or momentum to be had thus far, with Game 1’s two goal margin being the closest of the bunch in the box score. Since then, it’s been alternating blowouts, which again goes to show that hockey is the most luck driven of all the sports and one can only play the “value” to be profitable over time. In this game, all that value is with the Knights at home in Sin City. Let the chips fall where they may.
