Los Angeles -½ +100 over Nashville

10:37 PM EST. Regulation only. The Predators are rat s**t, but they are not regarded as dregs like the Coyotes, Ducks, Blackhawks, or Sharks. However, Nashville is much closer to those bottom-feeding teams than it is to say, Calgary, whom the Preds trail by just two points in the Western Conference standings. Nashville is a one-man team that starts and ends with goalie Jusse Saros. Hell, if we were the Flames, we would have traded a king's ransom at the deadline to pry Saros away from Nashville. Make that one roster change, and the standings would be totally different. The Flames would be on top, while the Preds would be in the cellar, chilling in the Connor Bedard lottery combatants. Speaking of those dregs, the Preds just dropped a 4-1 decision to Arizona, while also losing to Vancouver, 4-3 in a shootout.

The Kings are hot, but they are underpriced here. Just over a week ago, Los Angeles was a -258 favorite over the lowly Canadiens, and the Kings were -209 versus the Blues on Monday night. L.A. would win both of those games and four others along the way; however, the Kings are a smaller price today against the Preds than they were against both the Habs and Blue Notes. How can that be?

Say what you want about Montreal, but the gap in talent between it and Nashville is not as wide as this price today suggests. As for the Blues, they are at worst equal to the Preds. If we had to pick one of those two teams with our lives on the line, we can tell you right now it wouldn't be Nashville. There is value to be had here with the Kings and we're on it.
