Buffalo +152 over NY Islanders

7:37 PM EST. OT Included. Buffalo played last night at home v Edmonton and deserved a better fate in a 3-2 loss. Buffalo outshot Edmonton, 39-37. Although unofficial, the Sabres hit at least threw goal posts and Jeff Skinner missed two wide open nets (seriously wide open). Aside from that, the dangerous Sabres had several high danger chances that they failed to capitalize on. They dominated for extended periods of time but fell short. The game prior, Buffalo buried five goals on the Bolts in a 5-3 win. It is commonplace for Buffalo to fire away close to 40 shots on net.

Who the f**k are the Islanders to be -165? The Isles are not better than Buffalo except in goal but that’s not going to deter us. Buffalo’s goaltending can get hot too, ya know. The Isles are 2-2 in their last four games with wins over Detroit and Los Angeles (3-2). The Islanders are 6-6 over their last 12 games. They are 16-19 against the top-16 teams in the league. Point being, the Islanders are usually a 50/50 shot to beat any team that is near them in the standings. Buffalo is four points behind the Islanders with three games in hand so essentially, these two are almost dead even in terms of win percentage. This game is truly a coin flip but the price doesn’t reflect that, which is why Buffalo is worthy of a bet here. In case you were wondering, Buffalo is 3-4 this year in the second game of back-of-backs but two of those losses occurred in OT. Back-to-back is not a deterrent.
