7:07 PM EST. OT Included. The Maple Leafs are a pedestrian 5-5 over their last 10 games. They had dropped two in a row prior to beating Florida on Tuesday night in a game they trailed in almost the entire night. The Leafs have recent losses to Detroit, Arizona, Seattle and St. Louis, not to mention the 4-3 loss to Boston that cemented their everlasting impression as being inferior to the Bruins again. The Maple Leafs wanted that win over the B’s desperately but failed again. Toronto has elite talent but they lack something. Whether it’s goaltending, a killer instinct, depth on the blueline or something else, it just always seems like Toronto cannot get over the hump of being a second-tier team instead of an elite one. Meanwhile, you will not find a team that wants to win more than Winnipeg.

As an underdog in this price range, the Jets are as good as it gets. They, too, have elite talent up front but they also have perhaps the best goaltender in the game. Mark Scheifele is the most underrated elite player in the league. All the Jets do is continue to win games and they do so against top teams. Winnipeg has won eight of 10. Over that span, they have defeated Calgary, Tampa, Edmonton and Pittsburgh among others. They already have three 20-goal scorers and four players with 40 points or more. There is no question that the Jets are going to bring it tonight in this rare trip to the center of the hockey world. There is also no doubt that the Jets’ chances of winning are just as good as Toronto’s but that is not reflected in the price. That’s our prompt to move in.
