N.Y. Islanders +197 over Calgary

9:07 PM EST. OT included. Calgary is a lousy four games above .500. They’ve also lost a league-high seven games in extra time, which is a reflection of their weak goaltending. Should this win go into OT, we have to like our chances. Don’t get us wrong, as Calgary has the horses to be an elite team but all year, the parts have been better the sum. It’s not like the Flames have been killing it lately either. Calgary is 8-8 over its last 16 games. They have lost to Montreal and Columbus over that stretch and are just 8-14 against the top-16 teams in the league. The Flames are a great underdog but as the chalk in this range against a feisty underdog like the Isles, they are way overpriced.

The Islanders will close out a four-game trip here after one win in three times thus far. The Islanders will return home from said trip either 1-3 or 2-2 so motivation to get even figures to be high. After a dismal or lackluster effort against Seattle to open the trip in which the Isles mustered a mere 17 shots on net, they rescinded with a 67-2 victory over Vancouver the next time out. They subsequently would lose in Edmonton 4-2 in another lackluster performance (outshot 38-22) so another response is in order here. The Islanders have a better record than Calgary against both top-10 teams and top-16 teams and are very worthy of a bet here taking back a price like this.
