7:07 PM EST. OT Included. As an underdog, we don’t see any reason to come off the Sabres just yet. Both these teams played yesterday afternoon with the Sabres beating the Bruins in Boston while the Sens went into Detroit and lost 4-2. While we certainly like the direction the Sens are headed, they’re much better suited in the underdog role. We’ll keep them on our radar when such opportunities arise but for this one game, Buffalo’s chances of winning have to be considered better than Ottawa’s.

Buffalo has its sights set on making the playoffs and if they continue to play in the form they’re in right now, nothing is going to stop them. The Sabres have recent wins in Boston, Colorado and Vegas, not to mention a 6-0 win over the Kings in L.A. and a 9-4 victory over Columbus. The Sabres have won 12 of 18 and most of those victories were dominating performances. The Sabres are an underdog here because it is their third game in four days and tail end of back-to-backs, but winning increases energy levels, especially for a team with new found success. The Sabres cannot wait to get back on the ice to continue its quest to make the playoffs.
