LA Rams -10 over Carolina
NFL Playoffs – Wild Card Round
Saturday – Bank of America Stadium
4:30 PM ET. This is one of those spots where the market is politely pretending these teams are closer than they really are. Carolina has a home playoff game, a great story, and a rookie quarterback getting his first taste of January football. Los Angeles has Matthew Stafford playing at an MVP level, Sean McVay calling plays like it’s 2018 again, and a roster that looks built to go deep. Those two things are not equal. The Rams are not here for the experience. They are here to end seasons.
Let’s not forget the last meeting. Carolina won 31–28, but that game came with Stafford handing them two touchdowns via interceptions. Even with those gifts, the Rams were still in position late. Since then, the trajectories have completely diverged. Los Angeles closed the year with a top-five offense, Stafford threw 46 touchdowns, Puka Nacua just put together a historic rookie season, and Davante Adams is back to complete one of the most terrifying receiver duos in football. Carolina, on the other hand, backed into the playoffs through a tiebreaker, went 1–3 down the stretch, and has struggled to reach 20 points against anyone with a pulse.
This line is telling you something important. Road favorites in the playoffs don’t casually get hung at double digits unless there is a massive talent gap under the hood. Bryce Young might grow into a star, but right now he is a rookie quarterback facing a veteran defense that will not be giving him short fields, free reads, or bailout throws. Meanwhile, Stafford gets a Carolina secondary that does not have the horses to run with Nacua and Adams for four quarters. That is how blowouts happen.
