Minnesota +155 over L.A. Chargers
SoFi Stadium - Los Angeles, CA
8:15 PM ET. So, the Vikings are taking back an inflated price on Thursday night against a Chargers team that’s dropped three of four, is leaking yards through the air, and is being priced like their head coach is still at Michigan. Jim Harbaugh’s getting all the headlines, but this number has nothing to do with reality and everything to do with perception.
Perception says the Chargers are the more stable side because they have Justin Herbert, a big arm, and highlight stats. Reality says they’re 4-3 and needed garbage time to make the final against Indy look respectable. Herbert’s throwing behind a makeshift line that’s allowed more pressure than any team in football. Joe Alt might return this week, but a rookie making his first start on the blind side of a night game isn’t a plug-and-play fix against a blitz-heavy Minnesota defense that ranks top 10 in pressure rate.
We get that Carson Wentz isn’t inspiring confidence, but this number assumes he’s a liability rather than what he’s been—serviceable. He’s not McCarthy, but he’s moving the ball. He threw for 313 yards last week against an Eagles defense that’s top-five in most categories, and the Vikings had chances in that game to win outright. Minnesota’s attack hasn’t cratered without their rookie QB, and they’ve got enough vertical weapons to test a Chargers secondary that’s giving up 7.8 yards per attempt, fourth worst in the league.
Meanwhile, Harbaugh’s Chargers keep getting priced like they’re dependable. They aren’t. They’ve been turnover-prone, they’ve been outcoached in late-game spots, and their defense looks lost half the time. When a team needs 400 yards from its quarterback every week to stay alive, you’re not backing consistency—you’re backing chaos.
The Vikes are the live dog here. Their defense disguises looks well, they’ve been solid against the pass, and they can keep this one inside a single possession deep into the fourth. All the pressure is on L.A. to validate their hype; Minnesota comes in loose, physical, and undervalued.Take advantage of BET365's early MLB payout offer!
