3:30 PM ET. The Cascade War is one of the most under-appreciated rivalries in all of college football. While it doesn’t command the same national spotlight as the Iron Bowl or The Game, anyone in the Pacific Northwest knows just how deep the hatred runs. Oregon and Washington don’t just compete—they collide. And every time these two take the field, logic tends to fall apart. That alone makes Washington an intriguing side as a home underdog.

Oregon sits inside the top ten and is widely seen as a shoe-in for the playoff. They’re coming off of beating USC by 15 in Eugene, a game where many thought the Trojans may spring an upset. The Ducks validated their hype, dominated on both sides of the ball, and looked every bit the part of a playoff-caliber team. Now, however, comes the spot where chaos typically brews. The market that doubted Oregon last week is suddenly willing to lay points with them on the road in one of the most unwelcoming environments in college football in a potent rivalry game.

Washington, meanwhile, is catching a true live underdog number. Oddsmakers aren’t hanging a touchdown or more with the ranked Ducks because they don’t fully trust them in this spot. Oregon may be the better roster on paper, but this rivalry has a long history of making “paper advantage” irrelevant. Road favorites in rivalry week, particularly those chasing playoff dreams, are often the ones who walk into the trap. Washington has the firepower, the emotional edge of hosting, and the wherewithal to turn this into a four-quarter fight. We wouldn’t be surprised if the Huskies win this outright, but the points alone are more than enough value.
