Two brutal losses, punctuated by a 26-7 rout of South Carolina in Columbia — a game where no one gave OU a chance and the Gamecocks were supposed to spring the upset — yet OU handled them with ease. Instead, the market remembers the hideous 17-point loss to unranked Texas as a top-10 team and it remembers the eight-point home loss to Ole Miss where the Sooners closed a five-point favorite. The result? The market has been whipsawed:

Faded OU vs Ole Miss ? rewarded

Now we arrive at this spot: the public sees a ranked Tennessee team at home, a program that hasn’t lost in Neyland to anyone not named Georgia in ages, and a Sooners squad that “has no answers.” Joel Klatt is talking about Tennessee as a playoff team. Oklahoma? Written off.

Yet…the line refuses to move to Smokey and friends. Despite a flood of Vols money, the number won’t climb. The books are sitting still, content to let the market pile on the home favorite. That alone should raise alarms.

If Tennessee were as automatic as the loudest voices in the room suggest, this isn’t +125 — this is +180, +200 territory. Instead, we get a soft dog price that tells us everything: this is the trap door spot. OU isn’t dead. They’re wounded, undervalued, and hungry. Tennessee is bloated with public confidence.
