7:30 PM ET. The first leg of the Pac-12 Championship Game is being treated as a one-man show (These teams are playing twice this month). Oregon State? The Beavers are a tough pill to swallow. Winless against FBS opposition, four of their seven losses by double digits, and absolutely no market appeal. Who’s betting them here? The answer is no one. And that is exactly why we are.

The problem isn’t Oregon State — it’s who the market is propping up in this spot: Washington State. The Cougars sit at 4-4, yet they’re a false favorite by every measure. They’ve only been favored twice this season, going 1-1 ATS. They nearly lost their opener to Idaho as a 17-point favorite in a 13-10 rock fight, then followed up by beating San Diego State as a tiny two-point chalk. Since then? Two wins, neither as a favorite.

Who did they beat? Colorado State — one of the weakest teams in the Mountain West — and Toledo. And in both games, they were the dog. Remember that. When expected to win, this team has not proven a thing.

Look at the losses: gave up 59 to North Texas and got run off the field, destroyed by Washington in the Apple Cup by 35, and since then they’ve been the cute “tough out” in close losses to Ole Miss and Virginia — teams who treated them like an afterthought. Now because the Cougs suddenly look feisty as a big-number underdog, the market wants to pounce now that they’re laying points. Bad timing.

Washington State now flips roles — from being the scrappy chased dog to being the hunted road favorite for the first time this season. Oregon State, meanwhile, has nothing to lose, zero curb appeal, and all incentive to empty the tank in Corvallis. The Beavers have historically been bullied by the team up north — which only fuels the motivation here. This is Oregon State's chance to swing for the fence. And nobody wants them in what is a 50/50 proposition. Perfect. We’ll take Oregon State outright.
