7:30 PM ET. November is just around the corner, and as we know, that’s when the college football season truly gets started. The field is now established with who’s who and what’s what. The Group of Six College Football Playoff nominee will be one from the American Athletic Conference — the names: South Florida, Navy, Memphis, North Texas, and this team, the Green Wave of Tulane. Whoever emerges from this jungle of aspirants will go to the CFP, and for Tulane, a showdown with #25 Memphis looms on the horizon. The same Tigers team that just beat ranked South Florida and stole the driver’s seat for the conference credentials.

However, the Wave are undefeated in conference play and enter with one loss on the year to top-ten side Ole Miss which only berths their allure further. If Tulane beats Memphis, there is nothing stopping them from playing for the AAC title and said playoff berth a month from now. Thus, next week’s game is their season, and there is look-ahead potential that comes with this. Especially when we consider their opponent.

UTSA sits 3-4, unranked, simply hoping to scrap their way to a bowl. The Roadrunners got run over by North Texas two weeks ago in their last outing, giving up 55 to the Mean Green. With Tulane’s offense packing a punch, the presumption is who is stopping the Green Wave here? The line says think twice. With the Squids having their biggest game of the season waiting a week away. That’s the perfect set-up for an upset because the Roadrunners can play loose and free — and the Wave cannot afford a misstep.

The fact that the Roadrunners aren't even taking back a touchdown here says they are live. When you see a short dog in this spot, against a team that could easily be ranked with everything on the line and a massive game on deck, the writing is on the wall. The market is telling you all you need to know. UTSA pulls a shocker in a building known for such things historically.
