The Beavers of Oregon State are just 11-11 overall and 3-8 in the Pac-12, but they are a Jekyll and Hyde side that plays great basketball in Corvallis but disappears when they head out on the road. Tonight, the Beavers welcome the Cougars of Washington State to Gill Coliseum, where Oregon State is 11-2 this season. That includes the Beavers' 83-80 upset of then #9 Arizona at the end of January. Oregon State’s only home losses came to UCLA (91) in a game the Beavers lost by eight and an overtime decision to Stanford (93), 88-84.

Meanwhile, the Cougars are 16-6 and sit second in the Pac-12 at 7-4, but they have played a weak non-conference schedule that ranks 312-of-362 graded Division I programs. When looking up and down the Cougs' list of wins, there are few of quality, with only their victory over then #8 Arizona coming against a ranked team. Washington State has padded its win total with weak non-conference victories over Idaho (274), Prairie View A&M (318), Rhode Island (181), Utah Tech (290), Portland State (233), UC Riverside (254), and Grambling State (291).

The Cougars have not only won three straight, but they are also coming off a heated 90-87 overtime win at Washington on Saturday. Situationally speaking, there might not be a better game for the Beavers to catch the Cougs, as there is great potential for a letdown spot on the road against a team that isn’t contending in the conference. We’ll gladly take back the inflated points being offered here, but we will not be shocked if the Beavers make life very difficult for the Cougars (who are on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament) moving forward by winning this game outright.
