9:00 PM EST. The Spartans of Michigan State feature one of the most high-profile coaches in Tom Izzo, who year in and year out gets more love from the mainstream media than just about any coach in college hoops. Izzo is a throwback to the days when a coach was the program and all that he embodies, but there are few with the tenure that commands the respect of the media and the market. So far this season, the Spartans are 12-8, and 4-5 in the B1G, but that standing looks like sunshine and rainbows compared to the slump the Wolverines are mired in. The Spartans have won three of their last four with their only loss in that time coming to #13 Wisconsin, and while there is no shame on paper in a loss to a ranked foe, Michigan State got waffled by the Badgers, 81-66.

It’s been a rollercoaster season in Ann Arbor, as the Wolverines began their season on a hot run, as head coach Juwan Howard recovered in the hospital from off-season surgery, going 3-0 out of the gate. However, since then, it’s been up and down, but mostly down, as the Wolverines have lost 13 of their last 17 games. That run includes three straight losses, but Michigan has played a pair of ranked B1G brothers in #14 Illinois and #2 Purdue. Last time out, the Wolverines dropped an 88-78 game at home to Iowa to drop their stock price to its lowest of the season. That result, while not ideal, is somewhat skewed by a horrid run of shooting by Michigan, where it hit just one field goal in the last 10 minutes of that game.

There is no sugar-coating the results, but we are in the “buy low, sell high” business, and there might not be a more notable Power Six program to buy low on right now than Michigan, which has hung with some quality programs this season. The Wolverines went to overtime against Oregon (50th) and Florida (36th), and they lost by five to Stanford (90th), four versus Memphis (60th), and two to Minnesota (84th). Those are five close games that could have gone either way and had they, the Wolverines would not be taking back such an inflated price to their biggest rivals. However, Michigan did lose those games, and now it is time to consider buying in as the Wolverines are being offered up at bargain basement prices. Simply put, this line is disrespectful, and taking back the inflated points is a must.
