Kent State +4 -102 over Indiana

Friday - 9:55 PM EST. The Hoosiers are in this tournament for the second year in a row under head coach Mike Woodson. As a #4 seed Indiana has much pedigree, but before anyone gets too excited, the Hoosiers are overseeded, and overrated.

Indiana played a weak non-conference schedule that ranks 266 of the 363 graded schools in Division I. The analytics have the Hoosiers ranked 27th. Good, but not great. Indiana beat up on cupcakes like Morehead State, Bethune-Cookman, Little Rock and Jackson State. When Indiana played the big boys, like then #10 Arizona and #8 Kansas, for instance, it got waxed.

By contrast, the Golden Flashes of Kent State played a non-conference schedule that ranked 77th. Playing a tough schedule served Kent State well, as it put a scare into both then #2 Houston (L 44-44) and #18 Gonzaga (73-66). The Flashes are not out of place in this tournament. Do not let their #13 seeding suggests otherwise. This modest price suggests that Kent State is capable of pulling off the upset. With that in mind, we’ll put these two possessions in our back pockets and hope not to need them.
