Villanova +5 over Creighton

9:30 PM EST. The Wildcats are going to need to run the table here in downtown Manhattan to punch their ticket to the Big Dance. Yesterday, Villanova frog-stomped Georgetown (80-48) in what was the perfect warm-up for this game tonight. It’s not often Villanova goes 17-15, but underneath that middling record was a season that was bitten hard by the injury bug. 'Nova is now healthy, but the market has not adjusted to just how good the Wildcats really are.

This is a significant pile of points to be taken back in a game where only one team "needs it." It’s hard enough to win in these one-and-done scenarios, but winning by a margin is a whole other beast. If the Bluejays throw the kitchen sink at 'Nova here, so be it, but that is very unlikely to happen. As we said, Creighton is already dancing and will be a #4, #5, or #6 seed. The Bluejays have nothing to gain and everything to lose by pressing it here in the Big East tournament.

The #24 ranked Bluejays of Creighton need this game like they need a hole in their heads. The biggest event on Creighton’s calendar at the moment is Selection Sunday, where the Bluejays will find out what region they’ll be in and what seeding they’ll have in the NCAA Tournament. Creighton’s work is done, y’all. We’ll scoop up the generous points being offered just in case we need 'em. Villanova outright is the call.
