Northern Arizona +7½ over Montana State

11:30 PM EST. We can't abandon the Lumberjacks now, can we? Northern Arizona is just one win away from punching its ticket to the Big Dance, having turned the Big Sky conference upside down along the way. The 'Jacks knocked off #1-seeded Eastern Washington on Monday and then followed that victory up with another upset of #4 Montana last night. We said yesterday that we do not see the Lumberjacks as one and done, and we don't see them not competing here. The number tells us that the oddsmakers figure NAU is going to be a live pooch again. If you are #2 seeded Montana State, this is your dream scenario. The Eagles are gone, and so too are the in-state rival Grizz. However, when the chips fall your way, it can be easy to take such a scenario for granted. Everything we've read today suggests the Bobcats are primed to take this Big Sky's golden ticket to the NCAA's. Montana State does have market appeal as the #25 ranked mid-major, but that ranking and the fact that there are few "little guys" under the radar anymore has the Bobcats getting the lion's share of the action tonight.

This game is going to be on The Deuce and therefore will be seen by many eyes. Those nationally televised games only increase the appetite the market has to wager on a game. Who do you think they are betting on here? The #9 'Jacks or the #2 Bobcats? Montana State looks so good on the surface at 24-9, but do not be fooled. Montana State played a weaker non-conference schedule than Northern Arizona (55-to-11), and while it's not embarrassing, it's not a meat grinder either. The Lumberjacks are battle-tested and they cannot wait to get back on the court tonight. We'll take the points, but get the glass slipper ready, the 'Jacks are going dancin'.
