Milwaukee over Phoenix

Best Odds: +145 at Pinnacle

10:00 PM EST. Trust us when we say that this selection has nothing to do with Glen "Doc" Rivers, who was somehow granted the head-coach role for the Eastern Conference in this season's All Star game just days after assuming the Bucks' lead role. He laughed, and so did we. The Bucks' new coach has an unimpressive 1-3 start as their new leader, but we expect that to regress. Just, not because of Rivers necessarily. Losing to the champs in game one isn't anything we're worried about, and their latest gaffe was a back to back spot against a desperate and well-rested Jazz squad. Of course this is another tough road game for Milwaukee tonight, but they've also been dealing with injuries. Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez have missed some time lately but both are expected to return. And we love that Damian Lillard had a terrible game against Utah (5-18, 1-8 from beyond the arc) in their last contest, so he'll be due for a much better performance against another contender.

The reality is that the Bucks are still a very good team, and they've been consistently one of the association's most explosive offenses. No team shoots the ball better (58.4%) from two point land, only the Pacers score more (Milwaukee averages 123,7 ppg), and no team has a better effective field goal percentage. Tonight will mark the 6th and final leg of a 9 day road trip for Milwaukee, but the situation may be more comfortable for the visitors than you think. The Bucks swept Phoenix last season and this season they're 4-1 against the top eight teams in the West. They won't be intimidated, and they need to "get-right."

On the Suns' behalf, we can't deny that they've played better lately. Their "big-3" has finally been together for a longer stretch, 15 games to be exact, and it's produced 10 wins. Not bad, but a closer look tells a different story. Firstly, who the hell have they beaten? Okay sure, they had 2 nice victories against Sacramento and then at New Orleans in mid-January, but the majority of their wins were against teams like LAL (before their recent run), Portland, Chicago, Dallas, Brooklyn, you get it. They're also not covering against the spread (6-9 in the 15-game span). Their defense has been inconsistent, much like their opponent's tonight, but their bench ranks 18th in overall efficiency and they remain a liability in clutch scenarios. A team with as much depth and offensive talent as Milwaukee is not a good matchup for tonight's home team.

The fact that they're playing in Phoenix tonight doesn't mean much either, since the Suns are just 15-11 at home this season. Milwaukee is healthy and has a chance to end their long road trip with a bang for their new coach. We especially like that angle after a few lackluster performance. The Suns' big-3 is as intimidating as any trio in pro basketball, but if just one of those studs has a rough go on Tuesday, it'll be extremely hard for them to keep pace against Milwaukee's explosive style (the Bucks have been a consistent top-5 program in tempo). It's Bucks or nothing.
