Portland +9½ over Philadelphia

7:10 PM EST. The 76ers are a power in the East who are heating up with three straight wins, including covers in three of their last five games. Philadelphia would smash point-spreads against Miami and Minnesota by 26½ points each. Both of those games were on the road, including that romp over the Timberwolves (117-94) on Tuesday night. With stars around the league dropping like flies, the fully healthy 76ers are going to look mighty appealing, but backing them will come at a premium.

One does not have to look any further than this pile of inflated points to see that Sixers' stock is high, while Portland is well, Portland. The Trail Blazers have won just two of their last five games, and those wins came against the Magic and Pistons. Not impressive. That those are the only tickets the Blazers have cashed in their last six games further deflates their value.

If the recency bias working against Portland wasn't enough to highlight the value to be had here, we'll also analyze this game from strictly a numbers game. Last time out, in Boston, the Blazers were a 9½-point pooch. They did not cover in a 115-93 defeat. Now Portland is taking back the same price here in Philly. That's not right. The Sixers and Celtics would not be a coinflip on a neutral court. There is value to be had here and inflated points to scoop up. We're not going to pass them up.
