L.A. Clippers +102 over Dallas

10:40 PM EST. We're not sure if you watched the College Championship game last night but right in the middle of the mayhem and the festivities was Dallas Mavericks head coach, Jason Kidd and Dallas superstar Luka Doncic. If the coach and the superstar were encouraged to be present, we'd bet the rest of the team wasn't far behind. Jason Kidd can't be in two places at one time so we know for sure he wasn't preparing for the Clippers nor for a trip to Los Angeles to play the Clippers. It was party time for the Mavericks last night.

In the USA, the College Football Championship Game is almost as big as the Super Bowl. It's not a game, it's an event and the Mavs were right in the thick of it with sideline passes and honorary captain jerseys. Anything that takes focus away from the task at hand is a big advantage. The Mavs were more interested in last night's game than tonight's.

Aside from that, the Mavs aren't good enough to come in not prepared and beat a Clippers team in a foul mood. You see, the Clippers have lost six games in a row going back to December 29, which means they have yet to ring in 2023 with a win. We’re 10 days in, y’all, and those losses have Los Angeles’ stock in the tank. This is not the first lull of the season for the Clip Joint, but that one or both Paul George and Kawhi Leonard have been in the lineup for all but one game of this run of futility looks much worse than those games back in the fall when one or both of those stars were out of the lineup. Full disclosure, George has missed the last two games and he is not going to play tonight, but we couldn't care less. The “injury chasers” are out in full force and the Clippers have now moved from small favorite to home underdog. Situationally speaking, this is as good as it gets for a Clippers' team that is ready to wipe the floor with with someone.
