Oklahoma City -3½ over Dallas

7:10 PM EST. We've got a pretty good read on the Mavs these days after having cashed tickets in their last two games. Dallas’ last game was a 127-117 win and cover over the Pelicans last night where we backed the Mavs as a 7-point favorite. We also faded Dallas two games ago when they were destroyed by Boston. Tonight, Dallas is an underdog at Oklahoma City, which stood out immediately to us. It’s because of that, we were forced to dig a little deeper to find out why.

This will be Dallas’ third game in four nights, the second half of a back to back, and the first game of a five game road trip that will see them head to L.A. to play the Clippers and Lakers after this game before wrapping it up with back-to-back games in Portland next weekend. The Mavericks caught an exhausted New Orleans’ team playing its sixth game in eight nights and they were up just six points late in that game. Because of the back-to-backs and more important fish to fry on the horizon, it’s very likely and it has been hinted at already that Luka Donic will take his fourth night off (to rest a bum ankle) of the season here.

In its last eight home games, OKC has knocked off Washington (117-110), Boston (150-117), San Antonio (130-114), Portland (twice) and Memphis (115-109). The Thunders' only two losses at home in that span were to the 76ers and Pelicans, two pretty damn good squads. The 150 points OKC put up on Boston was no joke, nor was it a fluke. Oklahoma City dropped two close games in Dallas earlier this year, one in OT, which strongly suggests they match up well against the Mavs and now they catch Dallas on the road and in a bad situational spot.
