Chicago over St. Louis

2:15 PM EST. We understand that the White Sox aren’t winning many games and it’s usually best to lay off them because of it but there are no off-limits when it comes to sports betting. What we know for sure is that the combination of Lance Lynn (RHP- St. L) and the Cardinals cannot be this price over anyone. Furthermore, the South Side swept the Rays last weekend and had two one-run losses following the sweep. Point is, they have been more competitive lately.

While Erick Fedde (RHP - CHW) might be getting slightly better results than he deserves up to this point, his metrics have been pretty solid. He's got a 21% K-BB (39 Ks) over 34.2 innings, and the Cardinals aren't scaring anyone this year—they've just put up a weak .230/.649 batting average/OPS v righthanders this year.

On his best day, Lance Lynn is batting practice out there. There are tons of better options for the Cardinals but when you’re paying a stiff 10M a year to pitch, winning is secondary. There is no chance the Cardinals are going to bench Lynn while handing him a paycheck every two weeks of $416,500.00. No way. Dude is only making 10M this year. They would rather lose games than skip him in the rotation. Pay no attention to Lynn’s surface ERA of 2.64. He walked three batters last game in five frames, struck out three and had a line-drive rate of 25%. His xERA is close to 5 and once his fortunate strand rate of 87% neutralizes, he’s going to allow some crooked numbers. Lynn is continually being hammered by long-balls and hard hit balls and thus, he’s absolute fade material at this absurd price.
