San Diego -1½ +163 over Milwaukee

1:10 PM EST. The Brewers have not named their starter at the time of this writing but since oddsmakers couldn’t care less, neither do we. What we know for sure is the Padres won the first two games of this series, they’re playing great ball and their starter today is under the radar after four starts.

Michael King (RHP - SD) has faced the Dodgers twice this season including the season opener in a massive hitters park in South Korea. He had a poor pitching line in South Korea and 10 days later he started a game against San Francisco in which he walked seven batters. As a result of two shaky outings, King has an inflated ERA and his surface stats look a bit wonky. Pay no attention, as this is a solid starter that is coming off his second straight dominant season. Last year’s outstanding season featured a seamless rotation move in Aug (48/9 K/BB, 1.88 ERA last 8 games started). There was some strand% fortune involved and his swing and miss rate softened, but the Ks kept flowing and his ratios held strong. Michael Kings brings a four-pitch arsenal to the mound. His stuff is nasty and now that the dust has settled, expect big things from him from here on in. King has 19 K’s in 19 innings with a storing 13% swing and miss rate in a solid oOBA of .213. Today, King is the most underpriced starter on the board. He’s almost an ace but he’s nowhere near priced like one.
