No, check that, not even Koufax was priced in this range. Back to Javier. His high-risk approach from 2021 (45% first-pitch strike rate, 40% Ball%) has become a little better in 2022 (50%/39% First-pitch strike rate/Ball%) but it still remains a big wart. His xERA since the All-Star break is 4.47 while his wobbly control building blocks and steep fly-ball tilt (59%) will keep him prone to blowups. Oh, by the way, Javier has six wins this year in 17 starts and four relief appearances.

Cole Irvin (RHP - OAK) draws a start against a Houston team that he has pitched well against this season (2.04 ERA, 0.96 WHIP in 3 games started). Irvin has posted outstanding numbers going on five weeks now with an ERA/xERA split of 1.85/3.29 with a 0.76 WHIP. The port-sider turns the Astros around to the lesser side of their platoon splits.

We have no idea which team is going to win but this price wrongly suggests the A’s have almost no shot. We’ll see. It wouldn’t surprise us one bit if Oakland got smacked but one thing we are sure of is that this overlay is off the charts.
