1:10 PM EST. Cristian Javier (RHP - HOU) comes in with a sweet 3.07 ERA after 13 starts to go along with 68 K’s in 56 innings. Those are elite numbers but hidden are some extremely alarming splits that the market is very likely not aware of. First, Javier has only started six games on the road with two of those occurring against Oakland. Bob Barker could pitch well versus the A’s. He also pitched in Texas twice. Fact is, Javier owns some extreme lefty-righty splits. He's also extremely volatile based on where he pitches. When he pitches at home, he looks like a rotation ace: 1.98 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, 2.47 xERA. His stats implode away from Houston (4.63/4.99 ERA/xERA split, 1.50 WHIP), as his skills decline by more than 50 percent. Javier has a groundball/fly-ball split of 23%/58%, which is a recipe for disaster against the home-run hitting Yanks. 

On paper, Javier looks really good pitching for the Astronauts but in reality, he’s a disaster waiting to happen against the Yanks at Yankee Stadium. We’ll play it accordingly.
