10:30 AM EST. Harriet Dart is one of the most cyclically disappointing tennis players in the world. Once considered a potential star on the rise, Dart seemed to have all the tangibles and intangibles that a fan would want in a must-watch performer. Graceful and easy on the eyes, not long ago she was hyper-competitive in grand slams, competing with vigor against some of the biggest names in the WTA. But time has not treated her well, as the 27 year-old only seems to be regressing in both form and tenacity as she piles more experience under her belt. 

2024 has been no different. Forget competing in major tournaments, Harriet can’t even make it past the first round in lower tier events. The last time she had any success was at the Winners Open in early February, making it to the semi final before losing in straight sets to Karolina Pliskova. Otherwise it’s been a lot of uninspiring finishes for the Brit, who usually only competes in the qualifiers at bigger events before she is properly bumped out of contention.

Katie Boulter cannot relate. Also 27 years old, Boulter is having a renaissance in 2024, reaching her highest singles ranking in her career in March— 27th in the world. Now ranked 30th, her top-form has regressed a little bit, but she also took some time off and appears focused on a big showing at Wimbledon, which is now less than one month away. 

Both British women’s players will be motivated as they begin competition in their home country, but we have no faith in Harriet Dart’s ability to rise to the occasion. Boulter, on the other hand, is full of confidence, and less than 4 weeks ago she destroyed Dart 6-0, 6-4 as if she was Serena Williams in her prime against a fifth grader. Pardon our proper English, but we don’t think Harriet has a chance in hell, thus an early Monday morning wager on a far more capable Katie Boulter.
