Saskatchewan +5½ -110 over Montreal

1:00 PM EST. Thanksgiving football is a Canadian tradition. You get the turkey on the table, the family arguing over who gets the last drumstick, and three hours of CFL football to help you avoid doing the dishes. This year, we are taking Saskatchewan and the points on the road against Montreal. The Alouettes have been enjoying a strong season, but laying points with the home favourite is not always the best way to celebrate the holiday. We are getting a Saskatchewan team that has enough offensive firepower to make Montreal work for its dinner, and we like the Roughriders to hang around right to the final whistle.

The Riders have been going through a rough patch, and the market may be ready to send them to the Thanksgiving leftovers pile. We are not quite ready to throw them out. Saskatchewan has shown it can move the football through the air, and Trevor Harris gives this team a quarterback who can keep the offence competitive even when things are not going according to plan. Their recent results have been frustrating, but a couple of bad Sundays do not suddenly make this team incapable of competing. We expect the Riders to come out with some urgency and make Montreal earn every point.

Montreal deserves respect, but the Alouettes are not exactly a team we need to treat like they have already been handed the Grey Cup. They can score, but Saskatchewan has the kind of passing attack that can answer back and prevent the home side from simply cruising away. That matters when we are holding the points. We do not need the Roughriders to dominate from start to finish; we need them to stay composed, trade punches, and keep this game within the number. A close contest is exactly what we are looking for, and Saskatchewan has the tools to deliver one.

So while everyone else is fighting over the last slice of pumpkin pie, we will be cheering for the Riders to spoil Montreal's afternoon. The Alouettes may be the more popular choice, but we are happy to take the points and make the home side prove it can win comfortably. Give us Saskatchewan in a game that stays competitive all the way through.
