Seattle +107 over Texas

8:05 PM EST. The Mariners silenced the Ranger bats last night in a 4-0 win, and they will send Bryce Miller (RHP - SEA) out for his fifth start after he overpowered the Reds in his last start, allowing just one run on one hit over 6.0 IP while striking out seven. Miller did most of his damage with his patented four-seam fastball, which is highly regarded across the majors. Since taking the loss in his first turn, Miller has given up just that one earned run, walked only five, and struck out 18 in 19.1 IP.

Jon Gray (RHP - TEX) comes into his fifth start of the season after unexpectedly pitching 1.2 innings of relief in the Rangers' 5-2 win over the Braves on Saturday. Gray has now pitched 20.0 innings this season, and so far it has been a mixed bag. While he brings a 3.15 ERA to the table tonight, his xERA is a bloated 5.90. While the strikeouts are there, so too are the walks, with Gray posting 4.50 BB/9 and a WHIP of 1.40. We can appreciate that he has been “better” in his last two starts than his first two turns, but one of those came against the lowly A’s who are ranked 28th v right-handed pitching, and the other the Tigers, who ranked 27th v RHP. The M’s have not been an offensive powerhouse thus far, but the Rangers have struggled to score runs in recent outings as well, so we’ll take the superior starting pitcher at a plus price and hope to see you at the pay window.
