Chicago over St. Louis

2:15 PM EST. It looks like Matthew Liberatore (RHP - STL) will get the start for the Cardinals, but he'll be working as an opener (his highest recent pitch count was 38), and if that's not enough of a deterrent, his 3% K-BB% should be. Liberatore has been pitching out of the Cardinals’ bullpen all season and has thrown more than 20 pitches in an outing just once since March 30.

As for the White Sox, they’ll go with Garrett Crochet (RHP - CHI), who is quietly pitching very well on a team that is just 7-26, but better days could be coming to the South Side. Crochet is coming off a solid outing on Monday versus Minnesota in which he allowed just two hits while striking out seven and walking one over five innings and generated 13 swinging strikes. Crochet’s punch-out stuff has been elite, as he posts the second-most strikeouts in all of the big leagues. While his surface ERA is an ugly 5.97, his xERA is a sparkling 2.47, as is his 1.10 WHIP and his 47:9 K:BB ratio across his seven starts (34.2 innings). As an underdog, at this inflated price, Crochet and the White Sox are a must-play, and we’re coming right back on the Southsiders today.
