The Canadiens have been eliminated from playoff contention, but that does not mean there isn’t some fun to be had the rest of the way, as they can make life very difficult for the Flyers, who are one of a handful of teams fighting for the final Wild Card position out East. Philadelphia just dropped a 6-2 decision to the lowly Blue Jackets, which now has the Flyers sitting one point out of the Wild Card hunt, but they have both the Capitals and Penguins ahead of them, while the Red Wings and Caps both have a game in hand. Three weeks ago, the Flyers were solidly in third place in the Metropolitan Division with their eyes on the playoffs, and now they are looking at the NHL Draft Lottery.

Misery loves company, and so the Habs should be “all hands on deck” here, as they can deal a severe hit to the Flyers' playoff prospects. We acknowledge that the Canadiens have also been struggling of late, losing three in a row, but there is little shame in losses to playoff teams like the Rangers, Maple Leafs, and Tampa Bay. Prior to their three-game skid, the Habs knocked off both Florida (5-3) and the Flyers (4-1). In their current form, it’s hard to justify just how the Flyers can be favored in this range on the road, in a building that is one of the hardest to play in, in this league.
