Winnipeg -101 over Nashville

8:07 PM EST. OT included. The Predators return home after a quick two-game road trip to the East Coast where they went 1-1, picking up two points in a 3-2 shootout win over the Devils on Sunday. Entering tonight, the Preds are solidly locked into a Wild Card position, as they sit two points up on Vegas and seven points up on the Blues with a chance to clinch their postseason position with a win tonight. The Preds don’t even have to win to clinch, as they need just a single point, or a Blue loss at any time the rest of the way will secure Nashville's spot, as they sit seven points up on the Blues with four games to play. The Preds sit six points back of Winnipeg for third in the Central but with four games remaining, the odds are not in their favor to catch the Jets. So, with the Preds having gone on an epic second-half run to all but secure a playoff position, what is going to motivate Nashville tonight to throw the kitchen sink at the Jets?

Meanwhile, Winnipeg is just two points back of Colorado for second place in the Central, and while it’s pretty much inevitable those two teams are going to meet in the first round, home-ice advantage in that series is still on the line. The Jets trail the Avs by two points, but they have a game in hand and a date with the Avs in Colorado in a couple of games. However, there will be no looking ahead for Winnipeg, who is just coming out of the fog of a six-game losing skid and has won three in a row. The Jets are still a team that is under the radar here down the stretch, and we are going to ride them again tonight, as they cannot be a coin flip in Nashville. A 50/50 proposition this is not. Go Jets Go!
